The FLAG Award for Teaching Excellence

Celebrating extraordinary public-school teachers who inspire learning through creativity, passion, and commitment. An independent jury will select the finalists from those nominated based on numerous factors, with a strong emphasis placed on the student experience.

 The award for the 2020–21 school year focuses on New York City teachers and will expand to other US cities in future years.  One grand-prize winner from each of the five NYC boroughs will receive a $25,000 unrestricted cash prize, and each finalist

The award for the 2020–21 school year focuses on New York City teachers and will expand to other US cities in future years.

One grand-prize winner from each of the five NYC boroughs will receive a $25,000 unrestricted cash prize, and each finalist will receive $10,000. The winning teachers’ schools will each receive $10,000, and each finalist’s school will receive $2,000 to be used for arts-based initiatives designed by the winner.

Inspiring Teens' Future

The Inspiring Teens’ Future (ITF) is a before-school program designed to empower teens with the necessary life skills to succeed in the world academically, socially, professionally and financially. The program focuses on five essential skills: Mindset and Emotional Mastery, Vision Setting, Interpersonal Communication, Leadership and Financial Management.
